Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Apr 13, 2012 1:46 pm I am considering putting an 32" LCD screen in my outdoor entertaining area. It is under cover but I want to find the best option for making sure it is protected from the elements. Was thinking about making an acrylic box to house it in, but wondered if anyone had any suggestions on how this could be done? Ideally it would be on a swinging/rotating wall mount as well but that part is not critical. Wouldn't want the TV to stay lovely and dry only to overheat! Maybe you could make up / get a perspex cover that can hook over the top when not in use? Or possibly you could build the TV into a cabinet on the wall? Would have the added bonus of hiding the TV from sight! I have put it on a wall bracket that allows the tv to be easily removed. So when I know I won't be out there or a while, I remove it. The tv is light weight nd bracket makes it easy, so no problem. Re: TV in outdoor entertaining area 6Jun 03, 2012 10:39 pm I'd thought about doing this and using a dart board box or something similar and just putting rubber sealing strips on the doors and sealing the rest of it for when it's not in use (and its also hidden from prying eyes) and then just open the doors up when you want it on show. Haven't actually got around to trying it yet though. CDC Housing Code 3 When to apply Floor Area external face of wall vs Gross Floor Area internal face of wall.
