Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 May 09, 2024 10:09 am Our external decking was only installed 2 months ago, and already moulded, with cracks, and some timber decolorated. The decking is in an exposed area, uncovered in our backyard. Is this normal and is it because these timbers were not treated properly? When they were brand new they were not like this and they looked perfect. I read online that they need to be 'weather-treated' for 6 months before staining/oiling, by which time the builders would have finished the whole project as it would have gone pass the deadline for the contract. Is it part of the process that they would do something about these 3 issues (moulds/cracks/decoloration) at a later stage?
