Browse Forums Outdoor Living 1 Feb 06, 2021 8:11 am Hello all and happy 2021, hope you are all safe Id like to know peoples experience/thoughts , on louvres /aluminum shutters etc Our home has an outdoor decking area which is an extension of the house , the total size is 33sqm. the longest part is facing west , and we have 3 outdoor blinds which serve the purpose of cutting out most of the afternoon sun. They are not ziptrack etc , instead we have a rod which we turn manually to raise/lower etc.. The blinds are ok in summer, but in winter the western side gets hid hard with wind and rain , now the blinds are stable , but water mist still comes in and the decking is soaked. On the north side/south sides i have timber slats, really just for privacy. the south side also cops a lot of rain/wind and the privacy screen doesnt do a great job of keeping the decking area dry, so outdoor table/chairs and bbq get wet Ive read on this link ( viewtopic.php?f=17&t=9643 ) about louvres for a roof ( like vergola etc ) but Im wondering has anyone done something similar for wall ? really its about making the outdoor decking area dry in winter and providing shade/air flow in summer time. Im happy to manually adjust blinds/louvres etc , thoughts ? Re: Louvres/blinds for outdoor walls ? 2May 21, 2021 10:24 pm To be honest, I haven't come across it.
