Browse Forums Kitchen Corner 1 Mar 24, 2012 10:53 pm Hi all! I've been looking through the forums and there are really some very talented people here, especially from some of the photos I saw in the show me your kitchen thread so I though I would try to get some feedback. I'm in the process of designing the layout for my new kitchen for a joiner, however I'm working in an extremely small space
Edit: More detail added below Re: Unit kitchen layout 3Apr 09, 2012 7:50 am Put some proper dimensions on the page, maybe also show more of the units walls. You show one window above the sink are there any other windows? Maybe show them too. Its very hard to give an opinion without all the information. On the plus side though it would be a larger kitchen and the rangehood could be made into a nice feature visible from the living area. If you need any more dimensions please let me know, it's all to scale so I can measure it up in no time. Thanks again! Re: Unit kitchen layout L or U 5Apr 10, 2012 12:51 pm my 2 cents I'd personally steer away from the U as I tend to find small U shaped kitchens quite clostrophobic - is there a possibility of not requiring the dining table at all? I know this sounds odd, but is having an island bench etc with nice comfy stools something you would consider - this doesn't necessarily have to be a traditional long island, it could be a squarish and could incorporate additional storage space, seating and extra benchspace? I really like the symmetry created in the L shaped kitchen though... 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 Unit kitchen layout L or U 7Apr 14, 2012 1:40 pm Our old house had an L shaped kitchen and the table was in the kitchen, it was ok but a tad annoying when we would sit at the table for tea and still be amongst the pots and pans etc, it's much nicer being away and being separated by a bench.
