Kitchen cupboards - polytec cafe cream Benchtop - ceaserstone organic white Glass splashback - Maltese ( brown) DH does not want white cupboards and I want light ones, hence our selections. But now not sure about it. What do you think? Looking at the polytec cafe cream on the polytec website, I would not use organic white CS. One is a cream the other is white. I would use someting that tones in better. The splashback may be ok with the cream but brown is not a colour I personally would use. (personal taste that's all). Have you put the colours you are looking at together to see if they tone together. Take them outside to get a better look at how they match up. Organic white is too much a grey tone white in my opinion. My opinions only. Good luck with your choices. A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands. We can change the splashback once we have finally decided on the benchtop. http://www.polytec.com.au/colours.php We did put them together and they looked OK at the time, but now I am not sure. Anyone with suggestions of a ceasarstone that will go with Cafe cream? We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! I dont think I would use cream or brown with it though. We are having white cupboards and then adding colour with the walls and splashback Could you use Porcelain on the cupboards or is that too much grey? Re: Kitchen colour help 5Apr 13, 2012 12:40 am Ive seen kitchens that have a light mocha cupboards, white bench top and white splashback that look lovely. Still very neutral without looking all white. An example is a renovation in this link http://www.beautifulhome.net.au/gallery2.html flick through to the kitchen to see what I mean. Good luck Kitchen colour help 6Apr 13, 2012 8:30 am Thanks all for your feedback, we have decided to go back to the kitchen manufacturer tomorrow to have a good look again. We have only 6 colours available to chose from with the polyurethane for the cupboards. They are white, cafe cream, moss grey, Peruvian clay, alabaster and paperbark. I've been googling these colours and found lots of photo's for Peruvian clay which look lovely but worried it maybe to dark? However I can't find much on the other colours. I like the neutral but not too much white look, like mrsrusty suggested. But we are restricted to the 6 colours above. Anyone with feedback on these colours? Maybe you just need to rethink the CS not the cupboard colours. I put the Organic White next to the cream to see why the contrast looks wrong in my opinion. Hope this helps a little. http://i1006.photobucket.com/albums/af187/Kaytee50/colours.jpg A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands. Never thought to do that. Will do the same for the other colours I like then I will have a better idea of what to pick from. Many thanks!! We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! Good luck Onewheel choosing colours can be hard. We wanted a white kitchen but when start looking through the samples its surprising to see how many whites there are! Re: Kitchen colour help 10Apr 13, 2012 5:17 pm Looking at what kaytee has put up I would be choosing Creme Brulee! Thanks to Kaytee's brilliant idea I have been inspired to do a colour sample for each of our polyurethane colours with the caesarstone samples and we have norrowed it down to about 20!! lol. But it does help a lot to see what goes together. But I am sure they will look different again when we look at these colours in the flesh. At least when we go to the kitchen place tomorrow we can focus on the colour combinations we like. I think we will try and get a top 3 we like and go from there. One thing is for certain, we definately won't have cafe cream with organic white. Why we selected that I don't know, colour consultant reassured us it looked good. Oh well, better than than never to change our selection. Feel more confident now in picking something and we will focus on mixing only cool or warm colours together and not both. After looking we have decided to not have cafe cream anymore. We do like Moss Grey and Paperbark and preferred the lighter caesarstone. Anyway, we have selected 2 colour combinations to consider: Selection 1: Polyurethane cupboard - Paperbark Caesarstone - Osprey Glass splashback - Antique white Selection 2: Polyurethane cupboard - Moss Grey Satin Caesarstone - Organic white or Osprey Glass splashback - Antique white or Brilliant white Attached is a photo of the cupboard and casearstone selections (hopefully it works, first time posting a photo). The top caesarstone is Organic White, the bottom one Osprey. Paperbark is on the left, Moss grey on the right. So what do you think, do these colours work? Or do we still have no idea and need to consider another lighter caesarstone? We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! Our blog - http://ourwisdommajestic40.blogspot.com.au/ Our H1 thread - viewtopic.php?t=54156 Re: Kitchen colour help 13Apr 14, 2012 2:16 pm I like the combination of Moss Grey and Osprey. The moss is a slightly lighter colour than the paperbark by the looks of it. Be careful of the white you use for the splashback. The brilliant white sounds too bright for the look of the bench and cupboards. Let us know what you end up choosing. You did well with putting up your 1st pic. We have found Cafe cream looks good with it too.......so we need to decide if the "grey" tone is what we want,or stick with the "cream" tone. We are going to look at a few display homes to see what tones we really like and go from there. I keep changing my mind, it is really frustrating (plus I'm driving my DH mad), so maybe I might settle on a colour scheme if I see it in a display home. Agree re the splashback, brilliant white will probably be too white. I really love the Organic white caesarstone though, so if we really can't decide we can always go with "white" but I will have to convince DH. We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! We originally were going to use organic white but it was too cool with the white we used for our cupboards. We then chose ice snow. A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands. We chose this colour when we picked the old kitchen colours. We have not had to sign off on our colours yet with the building coy so I guess we could change this if we pick a kitchen colour that doesn't go with it. We visited the display homes today which I found most productive and I find it easier to make a decision when I have actually seen the kitchen display rather then imagine from a colour sample. However we found two kitchens we really liked, so now we are torn between the two. The first one is in Moss Grey, the colour we are considering. We will probably change the 4 upper cupboards to white like the display home and have either Osprey or Organic white as the Caesarstone. The second one is quite different but we like that one too. For the second one we would need to liase with the kitchen coy to get costs and an idea of what materials are to be used, which I guess would be either Laminex Diamondgloss or just laminex. We would need to pick a caesarstone to go with it too, but we like the contrast of dark and light. We currently have a timber kitchen so that is why we went for the polyurethane this time so we would have something different. But the 2nd one is timber veneer so will be a lot easier to keep clean compared to what we have now (which is looking tired now after 15 years). So we are now considering both and probably need to think about the colour theme of the rest of the downstairs area with our existing furniture. More to think about now... I personally prefer a lighter kitchen. I don't mind a little dark but not too much. In my kitchen we have a dark wood grain on the back of the island and the oven tower. The rest is white. DH wanted a black bench and I wanted white. We compromised and had black at the back and white on the island. There was no way I would work on a black bench, so I told him if he wanted all black he could do all the cooking. That fixed him. You are starting to come together now with your ideas. It takes a while but you will get there. And don't stress. A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands.
