Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Nov 16, 2012 2:00 pm Help! Colour selection in a few days time - never knew there were so many 'whites' out there! We have white kitchen, open plan living/dining - lots of light (in QLD) and spotted gum floors - now I need to pick a white paint for the walls, which won't make the house seem too stark and cold and uninviting. I'd also like a slight contrast in the wall colour from the architrave and skirting and window reveals - so white for all of those, and an 'off white'/'warm white'/'natural white' colour for walls. We think we're going osprey caesarstone benchtop, with white laminex cupboards (possibly polar white - depends how white the osprey is) and sophisticat laminex metaline splashback (darkish brown). So, lots of natural/browns and whites. Do not want cream though!! Any suggestions!?? sarat Re: a white paint colour to go with spotted gum floors???? 3Nov 25, 2012 10:39 pm Dulux lexicon quarter... amazing colour! Re: a white paint colour to go with spotted gum floors???? 6Dec 20, 2012 5:57 pm Hello everyone, This is my first post! Hope you can help with Dulux paint suggestions. We recently bought a north facing apartment with little sun. We're planning on putting spotted gum flooring and our sofa is light grey. What colour paint would you recommend? I would like something warm and creamy, as the too white look reminds me of hospitals but I'm afraid whatever white we choose will look dirty because of the sofa and dark floorboards. We're also planning on having an Ikea Abstrakt high gloss kitchen in yellow-white. The kitchen will also have spotted gum flooring. Any suggestions for which paint to use here? Ideally I'd like to use the same paint for the whole house. TIA! Re: a white paint colour to go with spotted gum floors???? 7Dec 20, 2012 6:37 pm Hmmm. A north facing apartment with little sun- is this in Australia?? Does it have a really wide verandah, or are the windows quite small??? That is usually the sunniest aspect. Wondering if Antique White Usa would do the trick...It is a lovely off white. Re: a white paint colour to go with spotted gum floors???? 8Dec 22, 2012 7:35 am Sorry, I think it is actually East facing. I assume we get a lot of early morning light (which I haven't actually seen yet as we haven't moved in) but the rest of the time it's quite dark. Thanks for the rec... I've purchased a sample pot of Antique White USA, along with Natural White, Hog Bristle 1/4 and Chalk USA! All these shades will probably make me crazy! Looking for advice on whether this variation in tile colour is acceptable. The large tile on the left was used in my main bathroom renovation 1 year ago. My ensuite… 0 8955 2 6342 3 5959 |
