Hi, I'm looking to get the exterior of my weatherboard/fibro house painted and am hoping for some colour scheme advice.

I want to get away from the cream/red look and want something in grey tones. I was thinking of Colorbond Ironstone for the gutters, downpipes and fascia, and white for the windows. Can anyone recommend a shade of light/mid grey that will work for the walls, possibly stairs, lattice and railings as well?

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Your house is very cute! ::

Do I have some time for this, or are you in a hurry to get it done now. I’m a bit busy this week.

I really like the white accents around your windows and doors; I think I would like to see them stay? If not use the lightest grey on them.

Hi Michelle,

Thanks so much for your suggestions. Can you explain the design reasoning behind your choice of those shades of grey? I was imagining something lighter and would never have considered those colours. I think I prefer the look of Stepney based on what I see on my monitor. I am intending to keep the white around the windows and doors.

Sarah, I was just going off what you said that you wanted... a mid grey.
So I through in another mid grey and a darker one for an accent colour which I think would work well.

A lot of greys throw other colours, these greys seem to be as close to grey as I can get with my Dulux fan deck.

Remember when choosing external colours they will lighten up once in the sun. So I suggest getting some sample pots to see if the colours work for you if you like them. :)

Just wanted to revisit this as I'm finally getting round to having the exterior painted.
The gutters and downpipes have just been replaced by Colorbond Ironstone and I am still planning on white around windows and doors. Dulux Silkwort has been suggested for the walls. Do you think that would be a good combination?

I have a new photo showing the ironstone guttering. How do I add that again or fix the broken links of the original photos?

Thanks
