Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Porter Davis homes 8409Oct 31, 2013 11:05 pm ajd78 Back pocket, sounds like things are moving for you well... We are also living in our current house and will sell. We have decided to not put pressure on ourselves and wait til we move into the new place before putting on the market... I have decided it will be just too hard with two little kids... It will hold our plans out one month only.... Have you spoken to real estate agents etc? Are you using one of the big guys? That will be my next task to try and get a good deal!! Ajd78 some days more happens than others. Yesterday 3/4 of the eaves were put on, today nothing. You'd think they would finish what they started. We are going with the agent we used for the last house. Was totally up front, when we discussed price, my DH said we would accept $X but wanted $Y. He said you will only get that if we get multiple people interested and they bid against one another. Much rather that honesty, than signing us up and then talking us down when it doesn't sell. We ended up selling at the price we wanted in 6 days. Can highly recommend PM me if you need an agent in the eastern suburbs. We are going to be on the market in late nov with hopefully a 120 day settlement which should mean a march handover date. Fingers crossed PD come through. My mum lives with us and is disabled, so selling and renting was never an option for us. Re: Porter Davis homes 8411Nov 01, 2013 7:39 am Back Pocket Inglewood, did you organise that so you could have a long weekend slab party obviously you have great stamina! Seriously though, it doesn't seem real til there's a slab does it? Will be back tomorrow night for an update! hahaha - yep, that's it! not holding my breath for today though. They've still gotta put those plastic holder cone things under the reinforcement stuff (don't you love my technical talk! ) - not that I imagine it would take long to do that... Hopefully slab party will be on tonight! Re: Porter Davis homes 8413Nov 01, 2013 8:35 pm YAY! That is so exciting Inglewood!!! It will all go so fast from now... Congrats!! Re: Porter Davis homes 8414Nov 01, 2013 9:01 pm Congrats in your slab InglewOod Plaster is going up tomorrow and had good meeting with SS today on site, I was too busy last week to meet him, the trucks were there delivering plaster today and all the insulation was being puti n while I was there. Front window alignment is fixed and roof trusses for garage and alfresco are up now too. Re: Porter Davis homes 8415Nov 02, 2013 8:18 am Not much to update for me yet. Basically is have decided on the Livingstone 20 with the grand alfresco option. I have colour and electrical selections on Friday. I'm a bit worried about these as I'm doing it all on my own this time and colours definitely aren't my strong point! My contract appointment is on the 14th, the same day my land settles. And they want to start in December so all moving fairly quick! Looking forward to seeing it come together! Before this I almost bought an off the plan townhouse (finance fell through as they didn't like how the contract was set out) I went and saw it started, definitely glad that didn't work out for me! It would have been fun to live I a townhouse but it looks so small, my land is more than double the size and the house is almost double too. Cost will be a little more but definitely nowhere near double! Re: Porter Davis homes 8416Nov 03, 2013 10:56 am Congrats to those starting out with the Slab pour. We are almost at the pointy end of the deal. Final walk through is on November 19th and handover is on Nov 26th. Re: Porter Davis homes 8419Nov 06, 2013 6:13 pm How exciting Ashy Redbacks being in for christmas! Am already eyeig off trres for next chrissy! Re: Porter Davis homes 8420Nov 06, 2013 7:23 pm Well, our plastering started Saturday and continued Sunday and are now missing in action. Second story brick clean today and they have built the blue board balcony across the front. Eaves are completed too but not painted. Can't wait until Friday when the scaffolding is supposed to come down. Then we can really see what the house will look like! Got the lock up invoice too. Just waiting until they complete lock up to pay it. Wow that is terrible about the insurance! I guess ideally proof of insurance should be provided prior to first deposit but I'd imagine they would refuse to be out of… 17 14248 There isn't any need to.
