A house was open for viewing both Saturday and Sunday this weekend. I was looking for another person, and we offered to buy the house on the Saturday at the asking price - it was very popular - there were alot of people there. The agent spoke to the person who we were buying for over the phone - but said there is nothing I am doing today - the house is open tomorrow - come and have a look. So after travelling for 2 1/2 hours to look at the house the agent would still not take the offer seriously. She said there were quite a few interested parties. We had a cash deposit on us but it didn't mean anything. She didn't have a copy of the contract with her - it was back at the office - it would be emailed in the afternoon. She rang the interested parties in the afternoon stating that there were 6 offers at the asking price. All parties were to email their offer with their conditions to her by tomorrow.
How much do you go above the asking price? The house was put on for to cheap a price, thats why it was so popular. How do you trust what the agent is saying?
Any advice?
