Hi all,
My last build thread ended prematurely without settling on the block and land due to an unfortunate redundancy on my part. So its time to try again!
The Block
We're in Providence Estate, Wellard, on a 12.5m*30m block. Titles are due in October.
The Builder
After doing the rounds of builders I called someone who has helped me out in the past and he now works for Commodore Homes, and Commodore have a design that we love so it looks like this might work for us.
Honestly my experience with Commodore has been pretty lacking so far. It is hard to get an answer from anyone about where we are in the admin stage and I just want to see a set of plans that haven't been scribbled all over to confirm that the changes we made have been noted correctly. I understand that we're in a high demand period, given the government grants, but I have not been too happy with the process so far.
What I have liked is the new BGC office with all of the pre-start selections set up and available. And the online portal to make selections prior to pre-start has been really good, though about half of the upgrades I want to make tell me they'll be priced at prestart... Which isn't super useful. I can see how much the taps I want are so I suppose its not a total loss.
The Design
We're building a version of the Whitby. I'm still to get our design with revisions back so for now we'll go with the sales brochure.

The Builder: Part 2
If you read down you'll see we had massive issues with BGC and decided to cancel the PWA with them. We decided to sign on with Homebuyers Centre for a variant of the Lincoln.
Our Homebuyers sales rep has been super helpful and we've also managed to go for a smaller house which gives us a larger backyard - Something super important to my partner. The yard is more than double the size of the last plan.
From the standard floor plan we've changed the window heights in some of the rooms, going for larger windows for more light, 30c ceilings, a wider front door than standard, shifted around the ensuite layout to get a double shower and also rearranged the kitchen a bit to get the scullery in.
