Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Aug 16, 2009 11:56 pm Hi, Does anyone know why getting coping tiles around a pool is so expensive? We have been calling quotes to have our old concrete pool renovated and that component of the cost is blowing me away. Our pool is approx 9 x 4.5m and they are quoting up to 4k to lay the copers (we have to supply). Is this a seriously specialised skill ? On face value I would have thought 1-2 days work. Any advice or experience on this matter would be appreciated. Re: Getting my pool renovated - why so expensive? 2Aug 17, 2009 10:24 am yes it can be very expensive we were looking at getting our concrete pool re painted in our last house and we were quote between 4,000 to 8,000 just for that. The cost of the coping tiles done I cannot help you with us my hubby did that has he is a bricklayer, finished building 40 square home on 5 acres with perry homes.working on the landscaping just finished pool deck with ://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=2217 Re: Getting my pool renovated - why so expensive? 3Aug 18, 2009 6:15 pm all depends on the quality of the installer Da Vinci Outdoor Living Architectural landscaping http://www.davincioutdoor.com Re: Getting my pool renovated - why so expensive? 4Aug 18, 2009 7:40 pm No way. I have installed two pools both 9.5 x 4.5 - and have NEVER paid that price just for labour just to lay copers. I don't know where you live but you have been ridiculously overquoted in my opinion. I don't think quality costs that much - my first pool had immaculate paving, and I know the one I have just installed in will to. Are you asking for a quote only to do coping? Maybe the job is too small, hence the large qoute? JL 6 7974 That sucks! Hope it all works out. Good to move away from steel anyway for all your reasons, but it's also thermally poor. 16 13767 Hi All, I just wanted to close this topic out with an update.
