Looking for some advice on pool surround planting. We have roughly 500mm wide garden bed around the edge of our pool. Depth of the bed is only around 250-300mm to top of gravel around draining lines. Initial thoughts were to plant all plants in pots in ground (nursery pot in ground or pot in pot) to...

Having issues with our sliding window panels. We built about 3 years ago, and have never been able to get the sliding panel from our windows out easily. The panel does not lift high enough for the wheels to clear the bottom frame rail. Has anyone else had this issue? It is on all windows, not just ...

I'm looking for some ideas for a garden along the length of my driveway between the boundary and concrete. Currently it has grass but it is a pain to mow given the narrow width. Keen to see what others have done.

I have noticed the splashback behind our freestanding oven is quite dirty. How hard is it to remove a freestanding oven/stovetop to clean behind it? It's a gas/electric combo. Looking in the instruction book it looks like it should be installed with anti tilt brackets and also chains.

So we are trying to remove the sliding panels from our horizontal sliders so we can clean them. We can't clean from outside as we have fixed security screens. I have tried the push up and pull out at the bottom method but the wheels/rollers get caught. Any tips?

Unless you have bought one of the 450k+ blocks on the "lake" I don't think you will have any issues.

I looked into ring security floodlights but the $4 a month per camera for cloud storage is an additional cost that should really be free. I'm looking into a 4MP HIKVISION kit for our house.

That was my thoughts. Our plans show that it is built 200mm inside the boundary. There is really nothing we can do about it now but wondering what the legalities are if the fixings cause any future damage to our wall etc and whether it has any impact on termite barriers and the like.

I have just been advised by my partner that our neighbour has decided to fix a fence post to our built to boundary wall with dynabolts into our brick. Is this legal for someone to fix something to our house, without seeking and being granted permission? We are located in QLD.

We had a similar issue on our block. We were the lower block and cut our block slightly and it was our responsibility. Then the neighbours decided to fill their block so they proposed to us that we should go halves. In the end they paid for the lot as they filled their block substantially.

We are a couple of weeks out from handover and it is time to start getting our home and contents insurance sorted. just using hypothetical numbers, say our build cost us $250,000........how much would you insure the house for? Taking into account that the amount insured would need to cover rebuildin...

It appears they are all the same. Poor communication from project home builders seems to be an industry wide problem.

Hard to believe we are only 4 weeks in to our contract given the delays we had at the start of the build. We are now 4 weeks in and the brickies have just started. Windows are in and cladding is on. At this point we are going to be painting the cladding in the same colour as the roof and plant out a...
