I would expect the curtains will be bunched along the north wall to the corners of the east and west walls. Not going around the corner of course, but I can't imagine the section of the east and west walls north of the pelmet will be visible much (if any) of the time. We will put plantation shutters...

Thank you for your thoughts, bed 4 is going to be rarely used, and we can't go longer else we'll be overshadowed by neighbours. I'll think some more.

My only consideration would be swapping the storage room and bathroom. I think bathroom and toilets feel clostraphobic. Also the bathroom layout looks OK in theory but thinking about children I don't think it's practical. Thanks, I understand your comments, I've had similar thoughts but nothing I t...

Have you considered overhanging eaves or some other form of shading for all that north facing glass during the summer months? Yes, the rear wall is all 900 eaves + gutter so just over 1m, with the height of the eaves it was the best compromise length.

Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts/suggestions on this plan. http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m40/cuebiyar/Floorplan.jpg I've tried to focus mainly on passive solar principles allowing for summer afternoon breeze direction (SE-E). The 'W1' windows are short & wide (400Hx2700W). 'W2' are...

I'm choosing PGH Moondust but contemplating a feature brick. There's a new brick (to the local Austral display centre anyway as they haven't had it laid yet, guess brickies are hard to source for them too) in 'The Avenue' range called Maddox and Stratton. Google says they are/were a Daniel Robertson...

I really like the kitchen one's.. Just think its maybe a bit much with the dining pendant being so close when you look at the space as a whole?? I really like all your choices, other than the dining. I don't know if it suits your style but something larger, rounder and 'airier' or less solid/struct...

I'm still at the lines on paper stage and been watching a few builds on here that have used Ikea wardrobes recently. My plans have come back with built ins of 1950 x 530 and the master walk in is 1950 x 2280 I'd rather change it up now than have unusable space later. Any suggestions?

That's great info, thanks :) Which brickyard did you visit for samples (both PGH and Austral are now at Beresfield)?

I'm finally in a position to look into this and thought a dedicated topic might be the way to go for future. Where do people get samples of their potential selections from? We're not to the point of actually making selections with a builder yet but I want to be prepared and I'd like to have samples ...

Hi I was hoping there'd be an easy answer out there that I just don't know how to find. I'm hoping to have a built in bulkhead act as a pelmet on the 'north' wall of the house for curtains that at a future point will be motorised. I was hoping there was some ideal width/height for the pelmet I can d...

Hi Joynz, No, this is all made by me so far. I've had difficulty finding a company that seems as aware/invested in these design principles as I am.
