Oh I see. I thought you were talking about the plastering supply connections, not installation.

Hey there, laser levelled ceilings are done for a couple of reasons. Basically no carpenter no matter how good they are can ensure your roof trusses are completely level. Most companies are happy to screw the plaster straight to the bottom of the trusses, however it will not be perfectly level, you...
Thanks for that! Will definitivelly keep in mind once we get to that stage. Do you mind me asking how many sqm of plast...

Something to note also. A bricklayer may not knwo this however a ribbed 6mm lintel is just as str...

Hi all Do you know what was used in the wet areas of your house? Water resistant plasterboard or Villaboard? Also, which is better and why? Look forward to reading your responses. ::smile::

From looking at your front elevation, it doesn't look like you would have much room for a colonial top light. Has your builder told you it is possible? Personally I think it would look nice (and be cheaper again) without any sort of top light because the arch window is not that far above - an extra...
Thank you so much for pointing that out! Now that you mention it it does look a bit odd with all three of them being di...

Any pics for comparison? I haven't been able to find any pics of a colonial bars toplight (maybe there is a reason for this :P ) But basically it's like a plain toplight except there are bars/squares separating the glass pieces. Sorry really bad description :( Here is a plain one though: http://www...

Now we need to decide whether to go with a plain toplight or a colonial toplight. Parner wants to go with colonial to match the windows. And I wouldn't mind a plain toplight (just because it's cheaper). What do you guys think?

Thank you all. We've decided to go with a rectangular toplight. To blend in with the windown on the left as well as because it is a much cheaper option too.

We are planning on using http://www.galintel.com.au/ which you can get through Bianco but I'm sure there are plenty of other options as well. Thanks for that. I've managed to get quotes from 4 Galintel suppliers and Bianco have turned out to be the cheapest. The only thing is... two of those quotes...

It's time for us to order the entrance door frame and we still haven't decided whether to go for an arched or rectangular toplight. Our facade consists of 3 arched and one rectangular window. Do you think a rectangular toplight would clash with the 3 arched windows or would it blend in with the rect...

Our steel frame supplier sent us the lintels that go above the windows and doors. However, our bricklayer said that they are not strong enough and that he is not happy using them. He has asked us to buy new ones. I've managed to get some quotes but most of the lintels suppliers want to know the spec...
